About the Role 

Providing quality care and education within a Christian Centre. To be able to carry out duties as required in the day to day running of the Centre and maintain an educative and safe environment where all children feel inclusive and engaged. To be able to provide quality support to teachers and tasks are completed in a timely manner. 

 Some Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the learning environment is welcoming, safe, warm and positive for all children and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching staff and the Head Teacher to provide a variety of quality learning experiences for individuals, small groups and larger groups.
  •  Foster good relationships with children and families, valuing and respecting the  opinions and ideas of children and families.
  •  Carry out other duties as required in the day to day running of the Centre.
  •  Provide high quality education and care to the children at Eden Cottage through a variety of quality learning experiences that reflect both Te Whariki and Christian values, being inspired by Reggio Emilia.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Teacher registration with the NZ Teachers Council.
  • A working knowledge of Te Whariki.
  • A Degree inECE education.
  • Current First Aid certificate.

  Skills and Attributes

  •  Excellent people skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  •  An ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a desire to support others in their work
