Mō te tūranga | About the role 

The Payroll Technician will be part of a team ensuring all Visionwest employees and other contractors are paid correctly and timely, and that all of the statutory obligations of the Trust are met. You will contribute to the outcomes for the payroll team, working collaboratively, contributing to process and workflow improvements and capacity building.

Key responsibilities of the Payroll Technician role include:

  • Monitor and analyse pay run reports
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for employees
  • Carry out payroll, analytical and administrative tasks, and other general tasks from time to time, as directed by Line Manager that contribute to the team meeting its outcomes
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and external agencies

Mōu ake | About you

We are looking for someone with previous administration and/or customer support experience.  If you have some knowledge of payroll processes this would also be advantageous.

Skills and attributes we are looking for include:

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft products, especially Excel, Word and Teams
  • The ability to manage confidential information appropriately to ensure it remains confidential and meets privacy legislation as well as organisational requirements
  • Interpersonal skills for explaining things to people or understanding others in a client/customer service setting
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
